2005 Lisbon, Portugal

The first SportUrban panel visited the city of Lisbon in the framework of SportUrban, an INTERREGIIIC project sponsored by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This 3 day event will take place from the 24th to the 27th of June and is hosted by the Municipality of Lisboa. During this visit, a team of experts reviewed two sites of interest. The first is a leisure site, a park in the heart of Lisbon called Jardim do Campo Grande that has been a public area since the XVI Century. The second site is a monumental but abandoned sport palace called Pavilhao Carlos Lopes . The Municipality of Lisbon is currently searching for new functions for this historic building.
