alt

The district of Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, the Paris-Saclay Cluster and the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin host for the second time, the INTA Summer Course from 5-9 July 2010. Part of the programme "Objective 2030" that provides a thematic umbrella to all INTA’s activities, the Summer Course capitalises on the collective work of our network on the future of sustainable urban development. The theme of this year will address the dynamics of development of large metropolitan systems in terms of inclusive innovation.

GLOBAL COMPETITIVINESS, ATTRACTIVENESS AND INNOVATION
THE NEW LEVERAGES OF METROPOLITAN DEVELOPMENT: FANTASY OR REALITY?

The programme of the Summer Course is designed to help practitioners who wish to broaden their skills and frame them in an international context and a culture of sustainable integrated development. International urban cases will offer participants a real benchmark on inclusive metropolitan systems. The project of Greater Paris will be discussed as well as the high tech cluster of Saclay who will be benchmarked with Singapore. Practitioners who participated in INTA’s Panels in Fukuoka (Japan), Hsinchu (Taiwan) and Echirolles (France) will lead workshops and sessions. Private companies will bring their vision and practices. English, Spanish, Dutch and French researchers, architects and planners from the INTA network will provide more academic inputs. Universcience, the new public entity that incorporates the City of Science and Industry and the Palais de la Découverte, will host participants for a private visit to the Villette in Paris. The conclusions of the training sessions will be included in the publications of INTA.

Combining case studies, conceptual and strategic vision, in a friendly atmosphere, the INTA Summer Course offers participants different and creative views through international exchanges, and a benchmark on common development issues.
