Jacques Marsaud, former Vice-President of INTA and CEO of Plaine Commune, an agglomeration in the North of Paris, invited INTA to a 2-day workshop, in the presence of Christian Blanc, Patrick Braouezec, MP and President of the agglomeration, mayors of the municipalities composing the agglomeration, business leaders and Jean-Claude Waquet, President of the Foundation Campus Condorcet.
This workshop was part of a series of consultation with the 9 clusters planned for the Greater Paris, which will make the territory a world leader in knowledge, innovation, creativity and lifestyle. The debates focused on the area's assets in the creative sector and the networking of social, economic, and academic actors of the future pole. Being not only a source of creativity and production the pole should also trigger territorial, social, and urban dynamics.
INTA proposed to Plaine Commune and to the Foundation Condorcet to help set the programme of the new Campus in the course of an international benchmark with the participation of INTA’s network of knowledge centres on how to create a knowledge place fostering the interactions between innovation, cultural creation, technology and academia. Such Roundtable could be held in the first half of 2010.
The agglomeration Plaine Commune, County of Seine-Saint-Denis in the North of Paris, includes the cities of Aubervilliers, Epinay-sur-Seine, Ile-Saint-Denis, La Courneuve, Pierrefitte-sur-Seine Saint-Denis, Stains, Villetaneuse. As a Public body for intermunicipal cooperation, Plaine Commune acts under powers transferred by the cities in the areas of planning, economic development and services to the population.
Foundation Campus Condorcet was created by several Parisian Universities for the creation of a new campus, which will constitute one of the leading centres of European education and research in social sciences and is one of the 10 projects of the national ‘Plan Campus’ of the Minister of Higher Education and Research
