Meeting on 15 February in Barcelona, Josef Roig and Michel Sudarskis agreed to submit to their respective Boards the idea of partnership on projects involving activities of common interest, such as organizing international expert meetings on urban innovation and integrated management of urban development. They came to the conclusion that METROPOLIS and INTA have much in common: the same ethic, a comprehensive and integrated vision of urban development, they address similar issues like the importance of innovation for sustainable development. The nature of their members are complementary, -major cities for Metropolis, policy makers and practitioners for INTA. To benefit their respective membership, the two Secretaries-General discussed the principle of cross invitations to their main events: congresses, committees, strategic meetings and to exchange information on the meetings they attend.
