47th ISOCARP Congress in Wuhan, China

Liveable Cities: Urbanising World. Meeting the Challenge.

Foremost amongst the challenges of the twenty first century is the relentless expansion of many of the world's cities, especially those in the developing world. ISOCARP's 47th World Congress to be held in Wuhan in the heart of China, between 24 and 28 October 2011, will explore and debate some fundamental issues. In particular, how can this massive growth be planned for, and accommodated in ways that are compatible with a good living environment and human well being, as well as with sustainability generally - in its economic, social and environmental aspects.
