2005 Taipei, Taiwan

The National Council for Economic Policy and Development (CEPD) of Taiwan is drafting the National Spatial Planning priorities for the next years. The relevant experiences and innovation made by European policy-makers in this area were therefore extremely valuable to the Council. To continue moving forward, it is necessary not only to maintain but also to increase individual and collective values such as social cohesion in an increasingly plural and multicultural society, work ethic and living quality, and of course, democratic values. If there are no values, there can be no collective projects. If there are neither collective projects nor good administration, there can be no progress. The INTA Panel together with an international seminar were positioned as “a learning moment”; i.e. learning by exchanging the relevant experiences and innovation in the European countries on their new approaches to national-regional strategic spatial planning, knowledge based economy and network society.
