GLOBAL AIRPORT INDONESIA 2012 SEMINAR

On June 26th, 2012, Mr. Sastrawinata as president of INTA, has been invited to be a panelist in Global Airport Indonesia 2012 Seminars and Exhibition, the first global airport
event held in Indonesia, with the main topic "Airport City".

This event was held at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, Pacific Place, Jakarta, and was attended by approximately 500 participants from Indonesia and abroad.
The panel addressed the topic of the "Airports' Impact on Regional and National Development". INTA President Budiarsa Sastrawinata and Doug Goldberg, president of Landrum & Brown, attended as panelists, Peter F. Gontha, group publisher of Beritasatu Media Holdings, moderated the meeting.
Mr.Sastrawinata disseminated the idea of Indonesia Regional Hubs, which represents the economic potential of several cities, such as Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, and Makassar to be designated as new airport cities. The role of these cities as airline traffic's regional hubs would alleviate the current burden of Jakarta International Airport as the national hub. Budiarsa also delivered the issue of "Greater Aerotropolis" which relates at the airport as a new development catalyst and the existing city center. 'Greater Aerotropolis' focused on the phenomena of the urban development corridors which occur between the airport and the existing city centers and leads to the question of sustainability of the aerotropolis concept.
