Katowce Conference on Urban Policy in the context of Polish National Cohesion Strategy and the Present and Future Cohesion Policy of EU
A
conference on urban policy will be held between 5-6 November in
Katowice's Auditorium of the Silesian Theological University with the main goal of dicussing the directions of future national urban policy
in the context of the works on the incoming EU cohesion policy after 2013,
the National Strategy of Regional Development, the Conception of the
National Spatial Development (Administration) till 2033, as well as the
future National Cohesion Strategy.The discussions will be held with the participation of the Ministry of Regional Development and other interested ministries, national offices, regional and city self-governments as well as scientific circles and experts.
INTA will sponsor the Katowice Conference and INTA's Secretary General Michel Sudarskis with address the conference with a presentation on "Innovation and Urban Sustainability.
The conference will present its participants the most significant experiences in urban policy of selected EU member states at the national, regional and urban level: different conditions and examples from other states as well as goals, priorities and instruments of the urban policy at national/state or regional levels.
In the frame of the conference the following topics will be addressed:
- EU Urban policy in the context of cohesion policy and other EUvpolicies.
- Experiences in the field of urban policy in chosen member countries of the EU.
- Future national policy basing on current experiences.
- Key intervention areas, instruments and mechanisms of urban policy
